What is Du'uma Fiisi Integrated Astrometrics?

Du'uma Fiisi Integrated Astrometrics is a small, fairly nomadic Thukker-owned and operated salvage and reclamation outfit. Often the pursuit of the corporation's interests involve a need to find things whose previous (or current) owners would've preferred to remain hidden; of course, this means that DF1AS must rely on astrometrics technologies to conduct their business.

DF1AS Surveyors can be seen operating anywhere from mainstream hub systems like Dodixie to more out-of-the-way locations like Gulfonodi -- that is, when they're seen at all; the corporation's primary focuses rely on the employment of advanced stealth technologies to ensure the safety of DF1AS' capsuleers and their ships' crews. While the corporation is currently quite small, it has its eyes toward set toward exploration (and exploitation) of recently discovered wormholes in the future.

OOC: Du'uma Fiisi is a terrorist organization comprised of Minmatar and other capsuleers who aren't quite satisfied with the direction the Republic has taken in the days since the Elder War. Fiercely loyal to the Minmatar race, its goals are to bring pain and suffering to anyone who would work to hinder efforts being made to bring all Minmatar closer together; efforts such as those undertaken in secret by Sanmatar Shakor and Thukker Chief Aeboul. DF1AS' leader knows that the goals of the Republic as a political entity are not always in the best interests of the Minmatar as a people, and while he does not actively want to do harm to Minmatar citizens, he is ever watchful for enemies of the Tribes whether they be foreign or domestic.

To this end, DF1AS maintains NRDS rules of engagement in Minmatar space but NBSI rules of engagement elsewhere.

Du'uma Fiisi is also an immersionist RP corporation; to borrow wording from -EM-'s forum (because I couldn't say it better myself): That means we play out every detail of our characters' lives - we are IC by default, except in specifically OOC channels.

Role-playing is more than shouting "Die, Slaver, die" in local. It's about portraying a character, a personality that may, in many ways, be different from your own. In triumph or disaster, joy or pain, every turn of events has an effect that shapes that personality and that we enjoy portraying. For more on RP, see this article.

What isn't Du'uma Fiisi?

We're not a rabid Minmatar Republic loyalist group who will do anything for the glory of the Republic. We're more concerned with Thukker ideals like freedom and profit - especially if that profit comes at the expense of someone we don't particularly care for.

So if you're interested in joining Du'uma Fiisi because you want to serve the Republic, and that's your only reason, these are not the freedom fighters you are looking for.

OOC: We endeavor to play plausible characters within the setting of Eve Online. Aliens and superbeings (beyond what any capsuleer is) don't fit too well with that, nor do time travelers, animal hybrids etc. Madmen who believe themselves to be these things are another matter, but bear in mind that a CEO is unlikely to hire a loon.

What are Du'uma Fiisi Pilots Like?

A DF1AS pilot should have all the following qualities in spades:

* Professionalism. We don't smacktalk, disobey orders or run around willy nilly like headless chickens on drugs.
* A Desire to Excel. DF1AS pilots should be prepared to look at their own efforts and constantly seek how to improve, how to do things better. True Minmatar are few and therefore every action needs to be as effective as possible.
* Dedication. You need to believe in what you're doing, and have the patience to walk a long, hard path that is going to cost you emotionally, physically and financially at times.
* Intelligence. Not everything is written right on the cover in big, glowing letters. You need to pay attention to the world around you and understand what is really going on.
* Honour. We may not be 'the good guy' every time; sometimes you have to play the bad guy to get anything done. Still, there's no good served by establishing a reputation for untrustworthiness; and without reputation, diplomacy can never succeed. And without diplomacy, no cause is ever won.

"We do what we must to get what we want, even if the path is lined with glass" - Tolon Baneblade

OOC: Because we only portray characters, players in DF1AS should be able to separate their character's feeling for enemy pilots, from the player's feeling for their players. We are playing a game here, and games are played for all sides to have fun. Note that the honour bit doesn't mean "space bushido"; just that if we SAY we're going to do something (i.e.: agree to a 1v1, ransom a ship, etc.), we DO it.

What are the rules?

DF1AS has a certain way of doing things, and its leader has a certain image in mind that DF1AS needs to uphold. To that end, Du'uma Fiisi pilots need to be able to fly certain ships or be willing to train toward them:

Interceptor
T2-Fitted Battlecruiser
Covert Ops
Recon
Assault Frigate
Heavy Assault Cruiser

Conduct guidelines include the following:

No piracy, ore theft, scamming or ninja salvaging in Minmatar/Thukker space.
None of the above activities against entities with positive standings toward DF1AS (that should be obvious).
No keeping of slaves or support of slavery.
No acting against the furtherance of unity between the Seven Tribes.
Maintain the corporation's reputation.

How do I join?

There aren't many requirements to employment with Du'uma Fiisi, but there are a few:

* You must understand the cause that Du'uma Fiisi is fighting for and will be comfortable with the roleplay and role-played ideology of the corporation
* You must be well spoken and possess a degree of eloquence, and will understand that Du'uma Fiisi members are responsible for preserving the good name of our corporation.
* You must be economically self-sufficient and know, or be willing to learn, how to make money in hostile space. You should also be prepared to establish clone-jump capability under our guidance, copy bookmarks for personal use, and participate in rare alliance logistical exercises.
* You've held your pilot's license for at least 90 days. Given the difficulties of our struggle, we prefer recruits who have "been round the block" and gained a solid political and gameplay grounding in the universe of EVE, but if you are a young character, really like what you see and can convince us you have the drive and passion to adopt this lifestyle in EVE, we’d be happy to consider an application to DF1AS.
* You must not have a history of corporate theft, career scamming, or exploiting, will not have a silly or abusive name, and must be 18 or older. To prevent the possibility of split loyalties, may not possess other characters that are in a corp other than their own alt corp or an NPC corp.
* You are not held in negative standings by the Minmatar Republic or Thukker Tribe.
* You are Minmatar - exceptions will be made for foreigners whose goals and ideals are found to be sufficiently in line with Du'uma Fiisi's own.
* You are willing to fight ((PvP)) alongside your corpmates; in turn this means that from time to time you will be required to relocate with the corporation when it moves.
* You understand that this corporation is constantly in a state of war, and you are comfortable with the idea that there may well be people trying to visit violence upon you.
* You are willing to make adjustments to your training schedule to accommodate specific equipment and tactics employed by the corporation and alliance.
* ((You are a roleplayer, or have a positive interest in the RP aspect of the game.))
* ((You have access to a headset; even if you don't have a microphone, you will need to be able to hear what the FC is saying during PvP activities.))

To apply immediately, make a post on our Recruitment Inquiries forum with specific replies to the bullet points stated above and as much detail about your character, and relevant information about you as a player, as you can provide. In addition, and in order to speed up the process of your application/help our recruiters:

A) Please provide an indication of the sort of times that you will be on, and available to interview with your application (a process which generally takes about an hour).
B) Please join, and loiter in our public channel - DF1AS Public - as this will also aid our recruiters in arranging your interview.

You will then be contacted in game within a couple of days for an interview, and if accepted, be taken in as a provisional member.
